WP2 Kick-off: Project Steps into its Demonstration Phase with WP2 Kick-off!

What is WP2 about? WP2 is dedicated to testing and validating a robust Dual-Link architecture (combining Satcom and VDL2) across multiple Communication Service Providers (Multi-CSP). By deploying Collins Aerospace's innovative Ground-Ground Router (GGR) and equipping commercial aircraft with FANS C/4D capabilities, the project aims to demonstrate a seamless, high-performance datalink transition that will significantly relieve VDL2 frequency congestion in European airspace.

What’s next?

The team is currently finalizing the technical specifications (DRS) and the Initial Demonstration Plan (DEMOP), paving the way for the ground infrastructure certification by Fall 2026. The live flight demonstration campaign is scheduled to officially take flight in January 2027.

Stay tuned for more operational updates as we continue to shape the next generation of safe, digital, and connected European skies! ✈️🛰️

WP3 Kick-Off: Advancing ATN/IPS Multilink Demonstrations

WP3 focuses on the demonstration of ATN/IPS multilink capabilities, targeting a high maturity level (TRL8) through the integration of advanced technologies and operational validation environments.

Key objectives include:

  • Deployment of a scalable Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for secure communications
  • Integration and validation of airborne IPS avionics systems (Collins & Honeywell)
  • Development of next-generation IPS/OSI gateways
  • Enhancement of ground infrastructure and mobility management systems
  • Validation of multilink operations across multiple communication networks

The demonstrations will rely on cutting-edge infrastructures developed in collaboration with SESAR, ESA Iris, and other European initiatives, ensuring strong alignment with future ATM standards.

WP3 activities will play a critical role in bridging the gap between research and large-scale operational deployment.

WP4 Kick-Off: Strengthening Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation

WP4 ensures that the project delivers strong visibility, stakeholder engagement and long-term impact, in full alignment with SESAR and CINEA requirements.

The strategy is structured around three core pillars:

  • Communication: raising awareness and ensuring clear positioning of AMEA within the European aviation ecosystem
  • Dissemination: sharing technical results and insights with industry stakeholders
  • Exploitation: supporting the adoption and deployment of validated solutions

A phased communication approach has been defined:

  • Year 1: Awareness and positioning
  • Years 2–3: Demonstration visibility
  • Year 4: Results dissemination and exploitation

This approach ensures high-impact communication aligned with key project milestones rather than continuous outreach
