Strategic Vision

AMEA contributes to the implementation of European Union policies aimed at modernising Air Traffic Management (ATM) through the deployment of advanced, resilient and interoperable communication infrastructures.

The project supports the transition towards a performance-driven, digital and integrated European aviation system, in line with the objectives of the Single European Sky and the SESAR programme.

By promoting a multilink communication environment and enabling a multi-provider ecosystem, AMEA addresses key challenges related to capacity, resilience, security and service continuity in increasingly congested and complex airspace operations.

The project further supports the integration of satellite-based communication services alongside terrestrial systems, contributing to a more flexible, scalable and future-proof aviation communication framework.

Policy Objectives

AMEA is structured to deliver outcomes aligned with European strategic priorities and regulatory frameworks:

Implementation Approach

The AMEA roadmap follows a phased and structured approach, combining technical development, operational validation and performance assessment.

It ensures close coordination between industrial partners, service providers and institutional stakeholders, allowing for progressive maturation of solutions and alignment with European deployment strategies.

The outcomes of the project will provide actionable recommendations and validated solutions to support future large-scale deployment across the European aviation network.
